# Privacy Policy for SpamStopper

**Last updated: July 22, 2026**

## Introduction

SpamStopper ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the SpamStopper mobile application processes, how it is used, and who it is shared with.

The core promise of SpamStopper is simple: **the contents of your calls and text messages never leave your device.** Spam filtering happens entirely on your phone. We do, however, use a small number of third-party services for analytics and subscription billing, which are described in full below.

## Information Processed on Your Device (Never Transmitted)

The following is processed **locally on your device only** and is never sent to us or any third party:

- **Incoming phone numbers** — checked against your contacts and whitelist to decide whether to block a call.

- **Incoming SMS sender numbers and message content** — checked against your contacts to decide whether to block a text. Message bodies are read only to make the blocking decision and are not stored or transmitted.

- **Your contacts** — read only to check whether an incoming number is known. Your contact list is not copied, uploaded, or shared.

- **Blocked-call and blocked-SMS history** — a record of which numbers were blocked and when, stored in a local database on your device so the app can show statistics. This can be cleared at any time in the app and is removed when you uninstall.

- **Your settings** — blocking toggles, schedules, whitelist, and notification preferences, stored locally.

## Information Collected by Third-Party Services (Transmitted Off Device)

To operate and improve the app, SpamStopper uses the following third-party services. **None of these receive your contacts, phone numbers you block, or the contents of your calls or messages.**

### Analytics — Amplitude

We use Amplitude to understand how the app is used so we can improve it. Amplitude may collect:

- App usage events (for example: app opened, onboarding completed, subscription screen viewed, purchase completed).

- Standard device and app information such as device model, operating system version, app version, language, and a randomly generated installation identifier.

Amplitude does **not** receive your contacts, blocked numbers, or message content. See Amplitude's privacy policy at https://amplitude.com/privacy.

### Subscriptions — RevenueCat and Google Play Billing

If you start a free trial or subscribe, subscription management is handled by RevenueCat together with Google Play Billing. These services process:

- Purchase and subscription status, purchase tokens, and a randomly generated app user identifier.

- They do **not** receive your contacts or message content.

Payment card details are handled directly by Google Play and are never seen by SpamStopper. See RevenueCat's privacy policy at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy and Google Play's at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

## How We Use Information

- **Call and SMS blocking** — checking incoming numbers against your contacts and whitelist, entirely on your device.

- **App statistics** — counting and listing blocked calls and messages for display in the app.

- **Product improvement** — anonymous usage analytics via Amplitude.

- **Subscriptions** — enabling trials, purchases, and restoring purchases via RevenueCat and Google Play.

## Permissions We Request

| Permission | Why |

|---|---|

| READ_PHONE_STATE | Detect incoming calls |

| READ_CALL_LOG | Identify the incoming number for call blocking |

| READ_CONTACTS | Check whether a number is one of your contacts |

| ANSWER_PHONE_CALLS / CALL_PHONE | End/reject unwanted calls |

| RECEIVE_SMS / READ_SMS | Detect and evaluate incoming texts for blocking |

| SEND_SMS | Required by the SMS blocking flow |

| FOREGROUND_SERVICE | Run the blocking service reliably |

| POST_NOTIFICATIONS | Show blocking-status notifications |

| VIBRATE | Haptic feedback when something is blocked |

These permissions are used solely for the functionality described. You can revoke any permission in your device settings; revoking a permission will disable the related blocking feature.

## Data Sharing

- We do **not** sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

- The only parties that receive any data are the service providers listed above (Amplitude, RevenueCat, Google Play), and only the limited data described.

- We may disclose information if required by law.

## Data Retention

- **On-device data** (history, settings, whitelist) is kept until you clear it in the app or uninstall.

- **Analytics data** is retained by Amplitude according to their retention policies.

- **Subscription data** is retained by RevenueCat and Google Play according to their policies.

## Your Rights

Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, and to opt out of certain processing.

- On-device data: view it in the app, clear it in the app, or uninstall to remove it entirely.

- Analytics/subscription data: contact us at the address below to request deletion, and we will forward the request to the relevant provider.

## International Data Transfers

Amplitude, RevenueCat, and Google may process data on servers located in the United States and other countries. By using the app you understand that limited analytics and subscription data may be transferred and processed outside your country of residence.

## Children's Privacy

SpamStopper is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

## Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date and posting the revised policy.
